Ecuador: Despite Suspension of Tax Bills, Demonstrations Continue

Despite Ecuadoran President Rafael Correa's decision to temporary withdraw two tax bills that have sparked furious opposition from the wealthy and upper middle class, right-wing opposition demonstrations continue along with a response from supporters of the Citizens' Revolution.

Correa has called for a national debate on the two fiscal measures designed to redistribute wealth, but such a discussion has been rejected by the opposition. The country's social movements, while promoting a dialogue, are explaining the issues at stake to the public.

The right-wing, meanwhile, is attempting to organize a referendum to remove Correa from office. Liz Scherffius reports from Quito.
