Far left splits from Tsipras' SYRIZA party

SYRIZA rebels opposed to PM Tsipras' bailout deal walked out of the ruling party forming the "Popular Unity", aiming at 62% who voted "No" to the recent referendum.

Far left Syriza members, who oppose the promises of yet more austerity and economic reform that Tsipras made to secure 86 billion euros in bailout loans, broke away to form a new party. Read more.
