Scotland to ban genetically modified produce while EU-approved controversial crops are to be grown in England

Scotland is to ban the growing of controversial genetically modified crops under new EU opt-out rules.

Rural Affairs Secretary Richard Lochhead said he wasn't prepared to 'gamble' with the country's food and drink sector to grow EU-authorised GM crops. Read more.
