Nearly Three Million Mexicans Might Suffer Famine

Mexico, Jan 27 (Prensa Latina) Over 2.5 million Mexicans are at risk of being affected by famine if the actions are not taken to counteract the losses that drought has caused to agriculture and livestock, warned a specialist of the Institute of Economic Research.

At least 50 percent of the municipalities of the country and 1.4 million hectares are affected by adverse weather conditions, specialist Emilio Romero told La Jornada newspaper. Read more.
