State of Emergency Extended, Despite Previous Reports

Tunisia’s state of emergency will remain in place until March 2, 2o13, according to an announcement issued by the presidential cabinet Thursday.

After consulting with Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali and Speaker of the National Constituent Assembly Mustapha Ben Jaafer, President Moncef Marzouki decided not to let the state of emergency expire, the presidential cabinet wrote. Read more.
