Argentina: Supreme Court upholds controversial media law

The Argentinian Supreme Court has declared the new media law constitutional which seeks to put an end to private media monopolies.

Although the law won an overwhelming majority in Congress in 2009, media conglomerate Grupo Clarin pushed for a judicial appeal, that ultimately did not prevent the law from taking effect.
