Tunisia continues fight against militants near Libya border

Officials in Tunisia say two militants and a soldier have been killed in fresh clashes two days after a deadly attack on an area near the border with Libya

The defense and interior ministries said in a statement that the two militants were killed after breaking into a building in the border town of Ben Guerdane. They say at least 45 militants have been killed in two days of fighting in the border area.

On Monday, a large number of militants attacked an army barracks and police posts in the city. The ensuing clashes led to the death of a dozen members of security forces and seven civilians. The authorities blame the attacks on Daesh, saying the terrorists, operating from Libya tried to set up an emirate in Ben Guerdane.
