Pope appeals for end of 'fundamentalist terrorism'

Head of the Catholic Church Pope Francis has called for an end to fighting in Syria, saying far too much blood has been shed in the war-torn country.

In his Christmas address at the Vatican, Pope Francis urged people to remember the refugees and migrants and those who are living in crisis. He also appealed for a halt to Israeli aggressions against Palestinians. The pontiff then called for an end to what he called fundamentalist terrorism.
