Riyadh waiting for US smart bombs: Saudi FM

Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir has denied reports that the US has decided to limit military support to the Arab kingdom

Speaking alongside visiting US secretary of State John Kerry in Riyadh, Jubeir rejected earlier reports that Washington decided to halt the supply of some precision-guided munitions. Kerry, for his part, said the issue is related more to a long procurement process than restrictions on military support for Riyadh.

Several rights groups have urged Washington to halt weapons sales to Saudi Arabia, saying the US is complicit in civilian deaths in Yemen if it fails to do so. Riyadh has been waging a deadly aerial campaign in Yemen since March 2015. US-made bombs have been responsible for the bulk of the deaths.
