‘Catalan government demands retraction from king’

The Catalan president is considering whether or not to attend the inauguration of the Mediterranean games on Friday - because, the king of Spain is also going. And he says, he should apologize for condoning police violence on referendum day.

And, at the beginning of July, the Catalan and Spanish presidents will hold their first bilateral meeting, Pedro Sánchez announced.

The summit is highly anticipated, and Catalan government officials want them to discuss demands for independence. But before that comes, the two leaders might meet in Tarragona, on Friday, where the Mediterranean Games will be inaugurated.

That is, of course, if President Quim Torra attends, because something which has not been yet decided. Parliament speaker Roger Torrent, however, already said he won't go. Meanwhile, Catalonia prepares a delicious tradition for its summer solstice.
